We are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to oversee our joint use and telecommunications engineering projects.
Job Description:
The Engineering Design Manager will lead a team of 80+ joint use and telecommunications professionals, driving the success of our engineering projects. Candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient team management, effective reporting, process optimization, and Profit & Loss (P&L) management. This fast-paced role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to effectively coordinate large-scale deliverables that meet both company and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, develop and manage a team of project coordinators and designers ensuring effective collaboration and productivity.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of joint use and telecommunications engineering projects for major utilities.
- Oversee the development of comprehensive project SOPs.
- Develop and maintain progress reports and final reports for stakeholders.
- Proactively drive process optimization to optimize team performance and enhance project efficiency and quality.
- Manage the project’s P&L, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are utilized effectively.
- Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment with business goals.
- Address and resolve any challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular project reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Lead, train and develop team to support all aspects of TechServ’s services.
- Develop and measure team KPIs for production and quality.
- Develop employee goals and conduct evaluations providing concise feedback.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering or joint use management, with a proven track record of managing large teams and complex projects.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficient in workflow management, process optimization, and P&L management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Skilled in project planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Agile, proactive, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical or telecommunications utility operations and joint use engineering work is a plus.
