Job Summary:
Material Coordinator is responsible for ordering, receiving, and monitoring material on Distribution and Transmission capital projects. This role involves tracking inventory levels, scheduling deliveries, monitoring stock levels, and collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials. The Material Coordinator works closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to forecast demand, prevent shortages, and optimize inventory costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and inventory material for upcoming projects.
- Make sure storeroom receives shipping tickets for records.
- Interface with Transmission and Distribution Operations key personnel for material planning, delivery and problem resolution.
- Monitor material returns and ensures credits are posted to proper code block.
- Interface with Transmission and Distribution Operations key personnel to ensure all unused material is returned in a timely manner.
- Work with Engineering to remove or update the metrics/unit to eliminate miss-ordering of unused material.
- Be available for call-out. Work emergency or storm restoration as needed to help oversee and ensure that materials are delivered to the material lay down sites as required.
Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Valid driver's license required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of experience in material coordination. Experience in transmission, substation or distribution line work is preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA Standard 1926, including Subpart V (Power Transmission and Distribution).
- Average computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Outlook, SharePoint, and internet applications.
- Experience working in group settings.
- Ability to interface effectively with internal and external clients at all levels.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively and maintain a continuous presence on assignments.
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work and wear all required PPE.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and pass a background check, MVR check, and drug screening.
- Knowledge of Oncor Safety, Construction and Design Standards is preferred.
