Description
Construction Oversight provides oversight of field-based construction activities in coordination with Telecom third party contractors. Area of responsibilities include civil site preparation, concrete foundations, underground conduit installations, site grounding network and testing, installation of AC and DC electrical systems, tower and antenna systems, Telecom prefabricated equipment shelters, equipment racks and various related demo activities. Assist the centralized Construction team with project tracking, field updates, site audit/inspection reporting and other coordination duties under the guidance of more experienced employees. Support a strong construction safety culture and facilitate the execution of the client’s safety standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead -
- Supervise and monitor the work activities associated with the field installation of Telecom sites in accordance with drawings, scope of work, permits, bidders response form, JSHA and summary sheets for the project.
- Ensure project workflow adheres to the client’s construction team standards and established practices
- Review, prioritize and facilitate construction activities to meet scheduled expectations
- Demonstrate an expert understanding of construction guidelines and OSHA standards
- Coordinate the delivery of large materials and heavy equipment to the construction site
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, as needed
- Provides guidance and mentoring other site coordinators related to team roles and responsibilities
- Serve as a lead to all site coordinators and manage multiple projects across a region
Senior -
- Supervise and monitor the work activities associated with the field installation of Telecom sites in accordance with drawings, scope of work, permits, bidders response form, JSHA and summary sheets for the project.
- Ensure project workflow adheres to AEP Construction team standards and established practices
- Review, prioritize and facilitate construction activities to meet scheduled expectations
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of construction guidelines and OSHA standards
- Coordinate the delivery of large materials and heavy equipment to the construction site
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, as needed
- Provides guidance and mentoring other site coordinators related to team roles and responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, preferred.
- Strong understanding of utility infrastructure.
- OSHA certified
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and at height.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
