Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Licensed Drone Pilot to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for piloting unmanned aerial systems(UAS) to conduct inspections, surveys, and data collection for various utility projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate drones to perform inspections and surveys of utility infrastructure, including power lines, switching stations, substations, telecommunications equipment.
- Capture high-quality aerial imagery and data for analysis and reporting.
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure the equipment is in optimal condition.
- Collaborate with managers and utility personnel to plan and execute drone missions.
- Maintain detailed records of flight operations and data collected.
- Ensure compliance with all FAA regulations and company safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to drone operations.
- Ability to work storm related events and be able to stay out of town and overnight as necessary
Qualifications:
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required.
- Proven experience in drone operations, preferably in the utility sector.
- Strong understanding of drone technology, including various types of UAVs and payloads.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal skills due to the need to communicate with property owners, police agencies and possibly local authorities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret technical data.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Clear Motor vehicle report
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with GIS software and data analysis tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of utility infrastructure and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with thermal imaging and LiDAR technology.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry drone equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable working outdoors in different terrains and various weather conditions.
